A pair of ash tray assy. With the lid for the rear arm rest of the 1963 & 1964 Studebaker Avanti, and Avanti 1965-1974.
This isn’t the ash tray assy that is in the Studebaker Parts Book ( the lid is different ). It appears to be made in the same tooling. I got these from the factory, many years ago. I don’t’ know if these were a Studebaker or Avanti Motors Prototype. They could have been manufactured by Avanti Motors at a customers personal request. Avanti Motor s did a lot of that to personalize that customers car for him/her.
Maybe you have this style in the rear arm rest of your car. If so, you may help solve this problem.
They are chrome plated and fit right in the arm rest. So if your car has the style that is in the parts book and needs to be replaced. This could save you some money. The only time people look at the rear arm rest is if your ash tray lids are rusty and cruddy looking, or if you enter a censures show for judging. I would expect the judge to notice rusty cruddy ash trays but they may not notice the wrong lid. They are NOS but just don’t know from what.
