​The portfolio contains: 4 lithographs, each 17” x 22”. A dark red front left 3/4 view, of a 1963 Studebaker Avanti.  One Front Left 3/4 view of a red 1953 Studebaker with a left side view of a light colored 1953 in the background.  One gold 1963 Studebaker Avanti right side, rear 3/4 view with a light colored left side view Avanti in the back. And the last is a dark blue 1953 Studebaker Right rear 3/4 view of Lowey’s personal Targa Top 1953 Studebaker, an engineering built proto type 1953 2 seater roaster in light Gray/blue in the back ground.  A printed letter signed by Loewy dated June 11, 1975 which explains the birth of the portfolio on his personal (embossed logo) stationary.
One addendum, also 17”x22”, double sided with proposed Avanti renderings completed by the Loewy design team during their desert sojourn. One folio envelope made of  material that was commonly used for the paper filters within automobile air cleaners.  This buff colored envelope also has Mr. Loewy’s gold stamped signature and Studebaker logo on the front  (gold foil).  The simplicity, color, and texture over the paper and large gold Lowey signature make this unique piece stand on it’s own.  What I like most of all about the envelope is the arrow on the bottom of his signature, a lot like the beautiful Avanti script logo and it’s arrow you also get the original box, no printing, or logos, just a box.
     In 1983 Dan and Betty (avantilady) Booth, owners of Nostalgic Motor Cars, purchased the balance of the original 1000 Signed and numbered portfolios, and the exclusive right of their use.  We also purchased all extra, unsigned lithographs from one of our Avanti customers and a friend, Jeff Atkinson.  Jeff was the master mind and senior partner of the Bleifeld group, who created the portfolio.  Jeff Atkinson took his extraordinary idea and turned it into a remarkable, cherished prize for anybody that appreciates the flowing lines of poetry in motion, the 1953 Studebakers and the 1963 Studebaker Avanti.  The portfolios were first offered for sale in June 1975.  Now in 2020, 45 years after their debut, I only have a limited supply of the original 1000 numbered and signed, unopened portfolios.  You won’t find them anywhere else for sale, unless someone decides to sell their portfolio.  This is a very rare opportunity as I have stated, I only have a limited supply left from that 1983 purchase.

If the Raymond Loewy Limited Edition Portfolio has always eluded you, it can be frustrating, after all they only created 1000 of those signed (by lowey’s own hand) numbered portfolio since 1975.  

These individual prints are over runs of the prints, for the portfolio. They had the over runs as a safety net, as Raymond Loewy and the Bleifeld Group didn’t want anything but the best possible prints for the 1000 portfolios.   All the prints went through the four complete print proofing. Only this group of superb prints were ready for Loewy to sign, though these never got signed. The Bleifeld Group held the over runs in case some got damaged in shipment. The less than superb group (rejects) surfaced a few years back, and were sold by others.

These are not copies, or rejects, like others have sold, but the real deal. They have been in their original packaging, since 1974. Prints Measure 17” x 22”
