Spark Plug Wire Set 1963-64 Studebaker Avanti
Studebaker Avanti Spark Plug Wire Set for the R-1 & R-2 engines, 1963-64 without transigniter ignition
This set of spark plug wires were made from the original type Packard carbon core wire for radio suppression, with all correct components. These are not the copper core wire sets being sold by others using the original Studebaker Avanti part numbers. All the wires are the correct length for an accurate fit and factory correct appearance. There are several elements critical in the installation of this wire set.
Make sure that your distributor is positioned correctly.
You must route a correct wire in it’s correct channel of the rubber insulator of the ignition shielding.
Each wire is labeled “1-8” for ease of installation and future trouble shooting (Studebaker did not number label 1-8 on the wires)
The wire sets are date coded with 3 different dates. The wire date code would have to be earlier than the final assembly date found on Nostalgic’s Born Reports build sheets
Date code 1-Q-62 would have been installed from April of 1962 through about June of 1962. Date code 3-Q-62 would have been installed form July of 1962 through December of 1962. Date code 1-Q-63 would have been installed from January of 1963-Decmber of 1963. You may ask why do I need the spark plug wires date coded, as nobody can see the wires with the ignition shielding installed. You don’t but it doesn’t cost you any extra money to be correct.
