The deck ( trunk lid skin was never sold separately by Studebaker or Avanti Motor Corp. They only sold part number 1350071 trunk lid as an assembly. Over the years, Avanti Motor Corp did sell me the skins only. This was the best way to correct the problem that exists on almost all 1963-1985 Avantis. That being the deck lid stuck up higher than the top of the quarter panel top, but only on the right (pass) side. The left side was flush. With the top of the quarter panel. To bond a new skin to the trunk under structure is not that difficult. As always, the winning bidder can simply email me and I will talk them through how to accomplish this repair. If the skin was never sold separately to say it’s rare would be an obvious understatement.
The skin was made from the Studebaker Original matched steel molds and in no way a reproduction and is very much NEW ORIGINAL STOCK.
