N.O.S. Hood top to cowl weatherseal for 1963-1964 Studebaker Avantis and 1965-1985 Avanti. This is the rubber strip that was/is glued on the top of the cowl or the bottom lip of the hood. It’s purpose is to minimize the chance of any fumes from the engine compartment from entering the fresh air cooling system that takes fresh air to the a/c, heater and floor vent systems to the inside of the car. It also gives the hood a nice thud sound when closing and not that rattling sound of a car of less quality.
