This is a new throttle control bell crank. This is a very RARE NOS part. This bell crank part number 1547836 was installed on 1963-1964 Studebaker Avantis. I think it was also installed on Studebaker Cars and Trucks, Check the part number 1547836 to your Studebaker parts book to see if it is the same part number. It will not fit 1965-1985 Avantis you will have to transfer your 2 mounting brackets from your old one, as they were never installed on this one.
The reasons you might want to change your throttle bell crank.
1) Do you have to hit the accelerator pedal hard and fast to get the engine RPMs to come down to a normal idle without sticking?
2) Does your accelerator pedal have to strong of a spring to get it to return to a normal idle without sticking. The heavy spring creates too much pressure on your foot to operate comfortably
3) Is there play from when you push down on the accelerator pedal before the engine RPMs start to increase?
These are just some of the problems a warn throttle bell crank can cause. After all it’s a round steel rod going through and turning inside 2 flat pieces of steel that have holes drilled in them (no bushings). It also has 46 years of use and probably no lubrication since 1963 or 1964.
