Used Avanti Frame
Used Avanti frame will fit all 1963-1985 Avantis. This frame was stripped of all suspension parts/lower plates and sand blasted to remove all rust. It was then sent out to a street rod shop to have a 2" x 3" rectangular tubing cut, spliced and welded inside the rear frame rails from the back of the x-member to the rear bumper. This is all hidden, except for a section in the upper part of the axle frame kick up ( see photos). This was done to create a pad to mount a Jaguar rear axle assembly. These pads can be cut off if you think they will interfere with the installation of a rear end assy. I think they will be just fine and will not cause any inference. A new reproduction rear cross member and rear left/right body mount bracket were welded in place. The frame was then painted inside, and out, with Zero Rust Primer.
New lower plates were fabricated and welded in place.
A new Slick Street Stuff complete rack and pinion front suspension was bolted in place. I have receipts from the former owner, showing he paid out over $6,000.00 for the frame modifications and restoration. The $6000.00 does not include the original cost of the unrestored frame assy. It also does not include the cost about $3000.00 for the Slick Street Stuff, parts. It also does not include the labor of installing the rack and pinon front suspension.
