A/C Fitting Conv. Kit

$30.00

A/C fitting conversion kit from Freon R-12 to 134A for 1974-85

DAN'S TECH NOTES for R134a Conversion:

  • DRYER REPLACEMENT IS MANDATORY: When converting an older R12 system to R134a, you must replace the receiver dryer. The old desiccant inside R12 dryers is not compatible with modern R134a refrigerant and will break down, potentially clogging your expansion valve.

  • OIL COMPATIBILITY: R12 systems originally used mineral oil, which does not mix with R134a. Ensure your system is properly flushed and refilled with the correct lubricant (usually PAG or Ester oil) as specified by your A/C technician.

  • AVANTI SPECIFIC FIT: Unlike generic plastic conversion caps found at big-box auto stores, these high-quality fittings are designed to thread correctly onto the original Avanti A/C service ports for a leak-free seal.

  • EVACUATION: After installing these fittings and a new dryer, the system must be pulled into a deep vacuum to remove all air and moisture before charging with R134a.
